Today I wandered into the artwork of British Printmaker Penny Bhadresa who mainly uses layered linocut work to create her finely detailed storyteller prints

..here a snippet from her artist statement ..

.. ” work in a variety of media but principally linocut, mixed media, acrylic and watercolour. My subject matter reflects my interest in nature, landscape, garden and architectural settings, and everyday objects. I like to evoke atmosphere through subject and colour. I am drawn to subjects which display a rich historical past or have a strong sense of place, be it intimate and domestic or part of a larger landscape. I am interested in the underlying shapes and forms that impose structure and design on a subject and aim to incorporate them into my work. Colour, texture, pattern and line are all significant elements in my work and together, combine to produce work that is strong and uplifting in its impact…..”
